We have a surgery date! We have had it for awhile now, but I just haven’t publicly posted it yet. July 19th. July 19th is the last day we will ever see Phoenix’s little rosebud hands. July 19th is the last day we will see her little piggies in a blanket. In a way I feel sad. Sad that she has to have this surgery. Sad that she will have to wear cast for several weeks. But, at the same time I am ready for her to have fingers. Life will be some much easier for her.
This past weekend we went to Osage Beach for my father-laws birthday/ fathers day. It was great to get away for weekend and not think about Aperts or doctors or surgeries. Phoenix did not like the lake water! Oh well maybe next time. 🙂
Phoenix is a master at the army crawl! She does get up on all fours, but then decides scooting is the way to go. Maybe I just need to find the right motivation…..
Sorry there are no recent pictures of Phoenix (I am really bad at taking pictures) so here are some oldies but goodies!
Loss and Gain
By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
When I compare
What I have lost with what I have gained,
What I have missed with what attained,
Little room do I find for pride.
I am aware
How many days have been idly spent;
How like an arrow the good intent
Has fallen short or been turned aside.
But who shall dare
To measure loss and gain in this wise?
Defeat may be victory in disguise;
The lowest ebb is the turn of the tide.
